The first naturist complex in the Canaries -Charco del Palo- was opened on Lanzarote in 1979. Initially only a part of it (Castillo de Papagayo) was developed by a German tour operator. Gradually private villas and apartments were built in its inmediate vicinity among them Las Piteras.
